The Impact of Packing Events

Help Protect Children

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025 for Israel Independence day, CTJ will join together with Second Nurture and Art Over Hate Collective to pack one hundred Healing Art Kits for children living in need in the foster/adopt system and living through war in Israel. We need your help to come pack the kits and write personal notes to kids in Israel and to foster kids in LA and/or help sponsor the kits. The Healing Arts Kits, a project of the Art Over Hate Collective (a not-for-profit 501c3 organization established in 2009), are designed to slow or stop the onset of new cases of PTSD in children exposed to trauma. Each kit utilizes the latest research in art and movement therapy to stimulate self-healing mechanisms in children, as well as provide a positive distraction during the most critical time in the development of impact of a traumatic incident.

Each Healing Art Kit is $65. The cost of the kit covers all the materials for Kits used in your communities, as well as kits in Israel. We will be making 100 kits for LA and for every kit we make at CTJ, one kit will be made in Israel for the same cost, like Toms shoes or Bombas socks!

The Healing Arts Kits

An emergency, psychological first-aid toolbox designed by psychiatrists, therapists, first responders, parents and teachers that have worked with Israeli children living through rocket attacks and war designed to slow or even stop the onset of new cases of PTSD.

The Healing Arts Kits create specific, alternative sensations which create a constructive distraction, stimulate self-healing and interrupt the feedback loop.  The items inside are deceptively simple but specially created by this team to serve all parties affected by the trauma and are activated by a proprietary activity booklet.

After rigorous review, The Healing Arts Kits have been used and endorsed by many top psychological and educational institutions, including the Israel Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma, the Israel Trauma Coalition, United Hatzalah, WIZO and the Israel Ministry of Education.

First Time Opportunity - The TOMS/BOMBAS Model:

Art Over Hate Collective is working with Israel manufacturers to make a match on every Kit produced during this event! As such, for every Kit sponsored and produced here, an extra Kit will be produced and distributed in Israel. We will be able to send notes to put in the Israeli kits as the first thing the children there see when opening these boxes.
